As the European Union’s long awaited Shareholder Rights Directive II goes live, ISLA has published further guidance for securities lending market participants.
The standards set out in the guide have been developed by the ISLA SRD II working group, chaired by Rickie Smith, J.P. Morgan, in conjunction with work carried out by the SRD II Industry Steering Group (members include the Association of Global Custodians (AGC), the Association of Financial Markets in Europe (AFME), the European Banking Federation (EBF), the European Central Securities Depositories Association (ECSDA), and EuropeanIssuers). They form part of the broader ‘Market Standards for Shareholder Identification’, whose objective is to harmonise and streamline shareholder identification related operational processes.
The guide is available to all ISLA members, and can be accessed by clicking here
